Simultaneous contrast refers to the manner in which the colors of two different objects affect each other. The effect is more noticeable when shared between objects of complementary color.

this is also true with people.

it is said that a person appears more appealing than normal when contrasted with a person of less appeal and less appealing than normal when contrasted with one of greater appeal. Since we already did a color simultaneous contrast in class, I thought it would be interesting to make visual proof of simultaneous contrast with people. So here it is- because there are so many stories on how fat and ugly Britney Spears has become, I decided to use her as my main comparison.

First, I compared her to attractive stars known for their beauty, such as Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba, and Angelina Jolie.

She does look pretty bad, huh... :(

But when compared to regular, average looking

She looks pretty good! :)
this is the amazing effect of simultaneous contrast

In conclusion, if Britney wants to stop being called hideous, she should either start doing something to look better or start hanging out with uglier people to look more attractive.
